Stop At: Lago di Guardialfiera, Guardialfiera Italy
If you want to explore the Molise coast, the countryside and archaeological sites, a Jeep tour can be the perfect experience for you!
Imagine traveling along ancient roads aboard a Land Rover 4 × 4!
This journey by land reveals different facets of the local landscape, including the historical and legendary “Tratturi”, which were originally routes of ancient dragons, and offered paths and uncontaminated places for the adventurous traveler.
We will start our adventure on a 4×4 jeep to enter the most hidden and least known part of the territory: our route will follow remote roads and mule tracks where we will reach the Tratturo Celano-Foggia, an incredibly impressive wide road that measures 111 meters used in the past for the transhumance, seasonal migration of the flock. The surrounding environment is unique. From here the Tavoliere of Apulia leaves room for the first gentle hills of Molise, offering bucolic landscapes and a stunning panorama as far as the eye can see. Surrounded by these marvelous sceneries we will stop in unknown but rich places of history like the medieval tower of Magliano and the rural church of Sant’Elena, a post station located on the cattle road of San Giuliano di Puglia. Continuing along this ancient road we will have to face an impassable passage until we cross the Swan River, at this point engulfed by clays, where you will feel as if you were on the moon! During the trip, we will let you discover the flavors of our gastronomy with a stop in which, if you want, you can taste the genuine products of a local farm. You will be enchanted by the valley floor of the Biferno river and the rich history of the Benedictine abbey and the Roman villa.
This is an example of a route, but these trips can be customized to suit your interests, allowing you to select your perfect itinerary.
