Conca dei Marini is one of the wonders present in the area, a dream place nestled in a basin-shaped bay. Named for its conca conformation, an adjective that implies proximity to the sea and the sailors’ knowledge of navigation techniques, Conca dei Marini is built on two levels: the first dedicated to cellars and warehouses, where the inhabitants kept fishing, in such a way as to isolate the ground from the second floor. Now below there are the houses flush with the water that are reflected in a small bay; Above, lying on the hill, whitewashed houses, scattered among the vegetable gardens, olive groves and terraces of lemon groves that descend to the sea. All the places in the village are connected by “stairways” that lead our way through the scents of aromatic herbs.
