Day 2: Highlights of Cagliari & San Benedetto Market

Discover Sardinia with a guided walking tour of CAGLIARI ,the Sardinian capital.It has an enviable setting overlooking the beautiful Bay of Angels and its historic heart, the CASTELLO which is cradled by ancient ramparts that enclose some beautiful architectural gems and historical treasures.Beneath the citadel walls, the vibrant marina quarter is a tangle of tiny streets bursting with tantalizing shops, restaurants and bars.Our day starts with a visit to the SAN BENEDETTO MARKET, the NATIONAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM,the SANTA MARIA CATHEDRAL,where to admire the Pisan Romanesque facade,the ROYAL PALACE and the BASTIONE SAINT REMY, a glorious spot for amazing views.After an included lunch in a local restaurant, you will have the rest of the day on your own.

Day 3: Ancient Archaeologica Nora & Family experience in an Olive Farm

Stop At: Area Archeologica di Nora, 09010, Pula, Sardinia Italy
This morning, we head south-west out of the city over bridges and viaducts crossing salt pans that have been in use since the Romans arrived to the sunken Phoenician city of NORA, one of Sardinia’s most archaeological site in Sardinia.Following this, we have an exclusive visit to OLIVE OIL FARM for a taste and a traditional light lunch. Return to Cagliari for enjoying the rest of the day at leisure

Day 4: Winery & UNESCO Su Nuraxi

Stop At: Barumini, Barumini, Province of Medio Campidano, Sardinia
Our tour takes you today to visit a local WINERY for a tasting of some Sardinian wines such as Vermentino and Cannonau. Afterwards, we drive to the Bronze Age site at SU NURAXI in Barumini, ancient megalithic constructions developed during the Nuragic age (1900-730 B.C.), included by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.The Nuraghic people built many prehistoric stone villages in Sardinia from about 1800 BC but left no written records. Su Nuraxi, is described as the finest and most complete example of this remarkable form of prehistoric architecture.Spend the night in the charming town of ORISTANO with dinner on your own.

Day 5: Exavations of Tharros,Bosa & magical Alghero

Stop At: Bosa, Bosa, Province of Oristano, Sardinia
We start the day with a drive to the archaeological excavations of THARROS, a city founded by the Phoenicians around the end of the 8th century BC, on a split of land called Capo San Marco and soon became a flourishing center of commerce. Continue to the delightful pastel colored houses town of BOSA located on a green valley at the foot of a mountainous area dominated by the MALASPINA CASTLE, on the right bank of the Temo river, the only navigable one in Sardinia.This fascinating town is famous for its artisan tradition of gold-filigree jewelry and lace-making.We end the day with a photo stop at the mural town of TINNURA.Drive to the stunning town of ALGHERO for the last three nights in beautiful Sardinia.Dinner is included this evening in a traditional Sardinian PIzzeria

Day 6: Catalan Alghero & Home-hosted lunch in the hills of Ittiri

Following the Catalan-Aragonese invasion of Sardinia, the medieval fortified seaside town underwent total Hispanicization and became known as “little Barcelona”.The lively piazza is fitted with shops and restaurants.Our guided tour takes us the through labyrinthine alleyss of remarkably preserved old ALGHERO, defended by robust walls and four bastions dedicated to famous explorers.Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the beauty of the town.Continue to the village of ITTIRI where you’ll visit a Sardinian family in their farmhouse for a delicious Sardinian lunch and hands-on-making local cheese

You might consider a boat trip to the magical NEPTUNE CAVE or a visit to the necropolis of ANGHELU RUJU, the largest necropolis of pre-Nuragic Sardinia, discovered accidentally in 1903 during the excavations for the construction of a farmhouse, converted in a well-known winery. In that occasion were found a human skull and a tripod vessel.Or you might consider to enjoy free time for independent exploration in this eminently walkable and lovely town with historic buildings lining its winding, narrow streets.In the evening celebrate your Sardinian adventure with an “Arrivederci dinner” sharing travel memories and toasting new friends
