The largest trullo in the town is called Trullo Sovrano. This two-storey building is used as a museum and it is possible to visit the interior, furnished according to the taste of the period, reconstructed through the testimonies of the older inhabitants of Alberobello.
Trullo Sovrano is located in the northern part of Alberobello, behind the Church of Santi Medici Cosma e Damiano. It represents the only trullo to have a raised floor, reachable from the inside via a masonry staircase, among the first to be built with mortar.
