Why choose this Bari tour ?

We’ve designed a pedal-powered route that, starting from Barletta, will take us to the archaeological village of Canne della Battaglia. Here, we will visit the sites made famous by the historic military clash during the Second Punic War, on August 2nd, 216 BC.

We’ll explore the medieval citadel, the archaeological village, and all the “accessory” sites like the Masseria Canne, the Menhir, and the small rail station.

Along the way, there will be a chance to enjoy a tasting of extra virgin olive oil produced by the Terre Balestrucci farm. At the end of the tasting, participants will receive a small gift.

The bike excursion will be led by one of our certified guides, an expert of the area, and will take place in complete safety.

Route length: approximately 25 km
Difficulty level: Tourist
Meeting at 08:30 AM – Return to base at 1:00 PM
What to bring: backpack, layered clothing, windbreaker or raincoat, water, snacks

What makes E-Bike Tour and Olive Oil Tasting in the Apulian Countryside a unique experience ?

One of the most important archaeological site in Italy, where Roman were defeated by Hannibal in the famous battle of Cannae from 216 b.C.

The tour will start from the so called City of Disfida. Before getting inside the beautiful Apulian countryside – with its masserias and olive trees – we’ll start the bike tour by passing near the charateristic sandy beach of the city, also called “Litoranea di Ponente”

The small and pictoresque rail station of the archaelogical site of Cannae will be also the spot where we’ll be tasting olive oil from “Terre Balestrucci” farm. The tasting experience will be held in a private and reserved pic-nic area with tables and seats near the main facility of the rail station.

The ancient water spring of San Ruggero is part of our bike itinerary. Surrounded by small hills and scattered trees, this old facility is still active and visitable, although a bit abandoned.

One of the biggest masseria in the territory of Barletta. It dates back to the 1800 hundreds and, although abandoned, it still tells what the rural life looked like back in time. Near the masseria, we’ll visit a panoramic view point facing towards the archaelogical site.

A monolithic stone dating back to the neolithic age stands in the middle of an olive trees field, near Masseria Canne. Explanation of this very ancient monument will be made by our guide.
