This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Vivi’s beautiful home is located on the hills of Piemonte, surrounded by vineyards and farms. You will not be going to a local market, but will visit Vivi’s sustainable farm land and collect ingredients toghether. She will show you her chickens, wild plants, vegetable gardens and fruit trees – hazelnut, cherry, apricot etc. She will introduce you to all the sustainable practices she employs on the farm, like enriching the soil through replanting. You will also learn how she creates a healthy ecosystem that fosters growth. Then you will forage wild herbs and vegetables, as Vivi explains the properties and traditional uses of the plants you encounter. By the end of the tour you will learn a lot about wild herbs and how to forage them. Vivi will teach you to easily recognize wild herbs, using all five senses. In your cooking class, you will learn about the herbs’ health benefits and how to cook them in the most appropriate way, highlighting their flavor and properties. This class can be enjoyed by all – experienced or novice cooks, adults or children.
