In the center of Alagna the parish church of San Giovanni Battista takes on particular importance, erected between 1505 and 1514 in late Gothic style and then remodeled in Baroque style in the following century. Here are preserved some of the most beautiful works of art in the area, among which an amazing pyramidal high altar (1690), a Walser “altar” (mid 16th century) and a plastic group attributed to Giovanni D’Enrico stand out. the high quality of the artistic production of local workers.
