The via ferratas of the Dolomites "were born" after the war, largely retracing those rocky paths that served the military to reach a strategic outpost or the top of a mountain, taking advantage of the easier and less exposed passages. Even today it is possible to see and explore trenches, caves or artifacts from the First World War (1915-18). The route today is well equipped with a metal rope fixed in the rock by sturdy metal nails that ensure the hiker's passage and are monitored seasonally by qualified people. The via ferrata in the Dolomites are of varying difficulty, length and physical effort. The easiest are called "ferrata path" where the hiker always walks along a rocky path protected by a metal rope on the most exposed passages. The via ferrata instead climbs along a more or less vertical rocky wall where the hiker can secure and help himself with the metal rope.

Karst Mountains in Yangshuo is the perfect place for doing Via Ferrata, which offers climbing and zip-lining possibilities for those who have zero climbing skills. The essence of a modern via ferrata is a steel cable which runs along the route and is periodically (every 1 to 10 metres (3.3 to 32.8 ft) fixed to the rock. Using a via ferrata kit, climbers can secure themselves to the cable. The cable can also be used as an aid to climbing, and additional climbing aids, such as iron rungs (stemples), pegs, carved steps, and even ladders and zip lines are often provided.

The Romsdalsstigen Via Ferrata is a perfect introduction to Via Ferrata climbing in some of the worlds most spectacular scenery! The route is facilitated with a continuous cable and steps, making climbing safe and achievable for everyone. The return back to town follows the popular hiking path down the Nesaksla mountain. The route offers breathtaking view and an unforgettable climbing adventure! The Introwall route does not require any previous climbing experience. The climb takes approx. 3-4 hrs return, where you will be guided by professionals and secured to the mountain by cable throughout. Great pictures guarantee! Climb ladders and steps and conquer the mountain! Romsdalsstigen Via Ferrata Westwall is a real challenge, in some of worlds most spectacular scenery. Designed for experienced adventures the Westwall route is our most advanced via ferrata climb. The view as you go are simply stunning, the photo opportunities incredible and the rush of adrenaline you get from facing your fears and go through them anyway, is nothing short of fantastic!  Reasonable fitness and ability required. The climb takes on average 5-6 hrs return, where you will be guided by professional and secured to the mountain by cable throughout. Upon reaching the peak of the Nesaksla mountain, you hike via the scenic photoplatform "Rampestreken", before returning to the Norwegian mountaineering centre. Rise to the challenge! 

This Via Ferrata is adaptable to all levels so everyone will have a personal challenge. A professional climbing guide will be with you all the time guiding and making sure the activity is safe. He speaks perfect English which will make the experience easy and safe. The settings are very beautiful and you will have amazing views of the Pyrenees and rural Catalunya. There are sustained sections combined with more relaxing ones. On the sustained sections you will have the opportunity to rest now and then or try to make it without stopping, everyone can adapt the challenge.

The tour starts at Ručica Beach in Metajna, where the guide greets participants with equipment. The route heads toward Beriknica Beach, known for its rock formations. After a break, the tour continues to Slana Bay, passing the first sea via ferrata in Croatia, equipped with iron steps and cables for safety. After the ferrata, the route continues to a viewpoint for photos and relaxation before returning to the starting point, passing the Stogaj climbing rock.
