It only takes half a day off-road to allow us to savor the wonderful contrasts of the historical sub-region of Baronia, in the surroundings of Orosei and Onifai, in central-eastern Sardinia. A unique experience of contemplation of its severe, harsh nature, made of mountains rich in pine forests, beaches and transparent sea, but also useful for knowing something more about the history of Sardinian pre-nuragic culture. Follow the footsteps of Sardinian shepherds and the mountain trails of Punta Cupeti, the peak close to Montalbo di Siniscola. Discover ancient settlements and natural water springs. Get to the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset and the infinite landscape while tasting typical Sardinian food and wine. Trekking suitable for everybody. We will walk for 45 minutes on mountain trails (1h30m including return) that include panoramic stairs on the last leg to the top of the mountain. We will see ancient remains of shepherd activity and the famous Pinnatu (old shepherd’s hat) at Sas Vininzolas. After a short walk, we will arrive at the peak of Punta Cupeti (1,029 mts), where we will taste typical Sardinian food such as shepherd’s bread pane carasau, Sardinian cheese and sausages, sa pompìa (a unique citrus dessert from Siniscola), and some good local Sardinian wine. On the walk back to the van, we will stop at a natural water spring to drink fresh water like locals do

Enjoy this easy ride along the north cost visiting Sos Alinos, Biderosa, Berchida, Capo Comino, Santa Lucia and cross some of the most beautiful sea side corners of the island. We will begin to walk uphill along the coast, towards Sa Perda Stampada, a rock with a hole through which it is possible to admire the Coccorrocci beach; we will continue going down towards Foxi Manna, passing by the rock Su Brecconi and Cala Niedda. We will then visit the Nuraghe Aleri, a tholos nuraghe, built between 1500 and 1200 BC, which has an irregular five-lobed shape. After a break for lunch we will set off again, going up the south-western side of Punta Cartucceddu towards the Piscine di Monte Ferru, beautiful natural ponds carved by the erosion of the stream in the red porphyry rock. We will take a little break to freshen up before returning to the starting point.
