This full-day tour allows you to go from a morning visit to Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, to the beautiful and surprising valley of Alcantara river in the afternoon. In the first part of the excursion, you will submerge in nature and visit old craters and lava flow caves, enjoy breathtaking views, and taste typical local products. In the afternoon, before seeing the famous basaltic canyon named Gorges, you will walk next the river Alcantara through a lush vegetation until to visit the Gurne, little lakes created by the same river.

The tour start with the Pick up in your accommodation aboard a luxury mercedes v class minivan with an english speaking driver. From there you will continue towards Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, you will arrive at the Sapienza refuge at 2000m, from there you will visit the Silvestri Craters with a short and easy trek, then you can decide whether to take the cable car up to 2900m at an extra cost of 80 euros per person with a duration of about 2.30h. Afterwards you will continue with the driver towards Oro d'Etna, the home of honey and you will see the lava flow of 1992. The tour continues at the winery, where you will have a wine tasting & light lunch. Finally the driver will take you back to the pick up point. The excursion starts from an altitude of 1,900 metres. After making the payment and purchasing the return tickets together with your guide, you will take the cable car up to an altitude of 2,500 meters. Here will begin your uphill trek for 500 meters of positive difference in altitude, among recent snow-capped flows, large craters, lava flow channels, hot fumaroles with high temperature gas leaks, up to an altitude of 3000 meters – MAXIMUM HEIGHT REACHABLE AT THE MOMENT DEPENDING ON THE LEVEL OF VOLCANIC RISK ⚠️ – at the base of the South Crater- East, the most active at the moment on Etna. The route in case of adverse weather conditions or real safety risks can be changed!! Other things to keep in mind:The duration of the experience is indicative. Unpredictable situations could cause the experience to end later than expected. It is always better not to make the day of the experience coincide with the date of your flight, if the scheduled time is too close to your departure / arrival. (It is important to wear trekking shoes or that you are not afraid of getting dirty)
