Monte Alban & artisan house workshop in Arrazola and Coyotepec


Your day will start in the Monte Albán archaeological site, you will continue to Cuilapan, an open chapel of the 16th century with Dominican construction, later we will visit Arrazola town, where you will find the famous alebrijes with unique colors and drawings, finally, we go to San Bartolo Coyotepec, an important town where they are dedicated to the elaboration of the famous crafts in black clay, the artisans will show you the technique they use to create them. Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Oaxaca City tour – Santo Domingo museum & the colorful market

Eira do Serrado – Monte


The first stop is at the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint. Here you can see the landscape over Funchal Bay and the mountains. Then we go up to Eira do Serrado (1053 meters high) where there is a panorama over the parish of Curral das Freiras. Access to the viewpoint is via a footpath. After visiting this point, we left for Monte known for its gardens and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte.


Santo Domingo


Santo Domingo: the first city in America founded by Europeans, the capital of the Dominican Republic. It was founded in 1496 by Bartalomé Colón, on the east coast of the Ozama River. In 1502, Nicolás de Ovando moved the city to the west coast of the river. It is a cosmopolitan and flourishing city, full of historic buildings that show the Spanish conquests of the American continent. It is the largest city in the Caribbean. Santo Domingo is a varied and interesting area for both tourism and its people. There are many invaluable old buildings that can be visited in excellent condition today. A pleasant walk through the historical part of the city is needed to discover how important and beautiful these buildings are.


Tour to Monte Alban, Arrazola and San Bartolo


We will pick them up at the hotel where they are staying in Oaxaca, to start our tour. First stop in Monte Albán is the great urban center built by the Zapotec culture. It is the most important archaeological zone in the State of Oaxaca. It is part of the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Second stop to San Antonio Arrazola is a town of artisans, famous for its fantastically carved and painted Copal wooden figures, which are displayed and sold as "Alebrijes". Third stop Cuilapam de Guerrero, former Dominican monastery from the 16th century. Where the Open Chapel stands out. Here General Vicente Guerrero was shot. Finally, we will visit San Bartolo Coyotepec, known worldwide for the famous black clay.

Tour to the archaeological zone Monte Alban


Tour in shared service. We will pick you up at your hotel at the mentioned time to take you to the archaeological site of Monte Alban. Monte Alban is the great urban center built by the Zapotec culture. Its main buildings: La Gran Plaza, Juego de Pelota, System II, Los Danzantes, Building "J", Central Buildings G.H.I., El Palacio, South Platform, System 7 Deer and Tomb number 7 La Gran Plaza. It is 200 meters long and 200 meters wide, so the rocky projections had to be cut and some holes had to be filled. At the end of the tour we will return to Oaxaca City.


Curral das Freiras e Monte


We start at Pico dos Barcelos, a viewpoint overlooking the bay of Funchal and mountains. We continue to climb until Eira do Serrado which is at a height of 1053 meters. This viewpoint offers an overview of the parish of Curral das Freiras. Access to the viewpoint is via a footpath that leaves from Estalagem Eira do Serrado. We went down to Curral das Freiras, a cozy village surrounded by mountains. Finally we go to the parish of Monte, known for its gardens and the Church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On January 1st and December 25th there are no excursions.
