DOLPHIN VISITING For over 10 years a pack of dolphins of the bottlenose species has been settled in the waters between Capo Figari and Golfo Aranci Near the island of Figarolo there is a fish farm, where, in huge cages, sea bass and sea bream are bred in large quantities. The presence of these fish attracts dolphins in search of food. Navigating near the island and the plant the chances of spotting dolphins are very high. For the excursions we use comfortable 7.5-metre dinghies with a 250 horsepower engine, equipped with an awning to provide shade during navigation and during stops. They are also equipped with several dry spaces where you can place your personal belongings. Dolphin observation is carried out trying to interact as little as possible with the animals so as not to disturb their activities and not alter their natural behavior (Blue Way adheres to the "Friend of the Sea Dolphin and Whale Watching" project in compliance with the code of conduct in case of sighting). Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) are wild animals in their natural environment, therefore we cannot guarantee sightings, however the chance of meeting them during our excursions is around 90%.

For this special excursion we will depart from the Marina of Olbia and, crossing the inner gulf, we will go towards Figarolo Island situated to approximately 25 minutes of navigation in a comfortable dinghy. Sailing at very low speed, we will begin the observation of the dolphins that attend assiduously this area. Without interfering with their activities, on the most fortunate occasions you can see them make jumps and evolutions a few meters from our boat, with insights from our marine biologist guide. At the end of dolphin watching, we will head to Capo Figari, where you can snorkel. This is an introduction to Sardinia, to the province of Olbia and to the Costa Smeralda. We’ll start from the Olbia area to arrive at a panoramic point near Golfo Aranci to admire the spectacular view of the island of Tavolara and Figarolo. After we’ll visit the resort of Portorotondo, once the port of the granite for the Romans, now the meeting place of the Italian elite, decorated by many works of important artists. Then, we’ll go up to the picturesque village of San Pantaleo set between peaks of granite. This little old town still retains the typical style of the ancient villages of Gallura. Next, we will go to Costa Smeralda with its capital Porto Cervo, where we will visit La Piazza, the Old Port and the church of Stella Maris. At the end, after Baja Sardinia, we will visit Forte Capellini, which in the XIX century was an important fortress dedicated to the defense of north Sardinia, but now, under the name of Phi beach, is one of the most fashionable disco of the Costa Smeralda.
