Lecce: Baroque and Underground Tour – Private Tour


The visit starts from Santa Croce church, jewel of Lecce's Baroque, and continues Sant'Oronzo Square, where you can see the Old Tawn Hall "Sedile", the Roman Column and Amphiteatre, important remains of Lecce's glorous Roman heritage. Walking through Corso Vittorio Emanuele street, you will see historical buildings of the 16th, 17th and 18h century and Sant'Irene church. Then u will visit Duomo square, with the Archbishop's Residence, the Seminary, the Bell Tower and the Cathedral. The tour will take you to the underground Jewish Museum, situated in the core of the jewish area, and in particular on the remains of the Sinagogue, with its mikveh and mezuzah. Here in the cellar of the museum is the start of a journey into Medieval Lecce, a journey into what is still even today largely unexplored.

To celebrate in an unusual and unique way, join us in the Capuchins Convent Hall for a special Christmas Baroque Concert, performed "a cappella" by the prestigious Schola Romana Ensemble. This event truly embraces the spirituality of Christmastime, through the power of sacred music and with a tour of the Capuchin Museum and Crypt that will walk you through the history and devotion of the Franciscans. The tour after the concert can be on your own with an audioguide or guided by an art historian (depending on your ticket). All tickets include the entrance fee to the Capuchin Museum and Crypt, the concert, and the introduction to the musical program in English. A traditional Roman dinner is available after the concert (if option is selected) at the restaurant "Il Piccolo Vicolo" (Vicolo dei Chiodaroli 16).
