Enjoy an amazing truffle hunting with a professional "Trifolao" and his trained dog near Monforte d' Alba. Breathe pure air in a gorgeous wood and enjoy the intense truffle scent. Meet the hunter and his dogs, who are specially trained to sniff out truffles, you’ll have a good chance of tracking down the elusive fungi. Along the way, learn more about truffles and why they are so rare, and pick up expert tips on how to find them. The experience ends with a wine tasting paired with cheese with black truffle, scratched on top. "The price for the truffle hunting experience does not include the trifulao’s fee. We produce wine for passion, with respect for the environment and continuous search for quality without forgetting the poetry that wine contains. We want to offer our guests a full-immersion experience in the world of oenology, and tasting, with a sensory journey to discover the world of wine from cultivation to aging. You can take a panoramic walk with us in the vineyard, where depending on the season you can actively follow the different processes, to understand how the wine is born in the vineyard, and then continues its life in the cellar from alcoholic fermentation to aging in wood. The experience ends with the tasting of wines paired with local products selected by the best farms. Count Camillo Benso di Cavour, one of the protagonists of the Unification of Italy, was the owner of this castle. Here he stayed between 1832 and 1849, when he was Mayor of the Municipality of Grinzane. He must also be interesting to discover in the field of viticulture. In the Castle are preserved its furniture, manuscripts and the Tricolor band of the Mayor.

I'm a professional truffle hunter from 3 generations in Alba. My grandfather after the 2nd world war was one of the first truffle hunters in Alba, he taught my father all the secrets about the precious "ipogean fungus" then my father taught it to me. I'm a dog trainer & actually I've got 3 great dogs: Isi, Palli & Lisa. I would like to teach "some' 'of my truffle hunting secrets to travelers. During the tour you will be helped by my friend Margherita. She's an official tourist guide with great passion for truffles and local traditions to translate every part of the hunting.

This tour is the best opportunity to visit spectacular Alba Iulia Citadel and to complete it with a tour and wine tasting at citadel cellar: Vinoteca Hugo. The Alba Iulia bastion fortification is the largest fortress in Romania, which has been standing for more than 300 years. Is the place where you can travel over two millennia back in time, strolling, among vestiges of three fortifications, dating back to as many different epochs. In other words, every fortress built here has embraced a previous one: the Roman castrum, the medieval fortress and the Alba Carolina Citadel. For more than 70 years, the Catacombs of the Citadel, hosts a wine cellar with a collection of over 5,000 wine bottles, produced between 1952-1972. For several decades, visits to the citadel cellar were restricted.The cellar was renovated in 2018, and was open to visitors. Now you can take a tour in this spectacular cellar and taste the wines from collection, that includes over 12,000 bottles of premium wines.
